Here's some comments from pre-2010 :-
Kontiki 2 - Motorhome
We found this site last year, excellent facilities, friendly helpful owners, set in the peace of the Forest of Dean. Several pubs within walking distance and with the bonus of having a trout lake on site, perfect! We even had our wedding reception at the site! Slightly sloping field so make sure you have levelling ramps. This is our favourite site, highly recommended.
This was our most recent of several enjoyable visits to Beanhill over the past 2 years appox. The site is approached via a narrow minor road.
Prosserand lodge - Motorhome
The amenities are good and are continuously being improved upon too as time goes by. When we first visited, the only toilet / shower was off the field, a good 200 hundred yards walk away. The site now boasts a good purpose build toilet and shower block(2 toilets, two showers (50p), two (communal) wash basins and a toilet / shower room for people with mobility problems. On this last visit we were pleased to find that a pot-washing sink has also been provided, extending the scope of what were already great facilities for a site of this size. The site lies adjacent to a small B and B (run by members of the same family)so is ideal for those who want to spend a few days with family or friends that do not enjoy camping / caravanning!
One unusual bonus at Beanhill are the views across to a neighbouring hillside, home to llamas, bison and camels !(part of a llama trekking business operating in the area). It is evident from the number of units on site on our most recent visit that news of this excellent site is growing.
We will certainly be back!
Revell - Campervan
We and our two dogs have just spent two nights at Beanhill Farm, a CL site, and I wish we could have stayed longer. If you can't chill out here you won't do it anywhere. The site is immaculate, spacious and set within the most glorious countryside in the Forest of Dean area. There are plenty of hook-ups and an abundance of drinking water taps. The showers and toilets have to have a five star rating. The centre of the 1.75acre site is kept clear of tents/campers etc so children have an area where they can let off steam. The owners, their children and dogs are friendly and helpful. The local area offers the Forest of Dean with walks, scenery and country pubs in small villages and towns. If you want a bigger centre Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth are short drive away.
Can't praise it enough and we're booking to go back in Spring 2010.
